I purchased this adapter/charger for my Dell Inspiron 1520 laptop, and I’ve been using it for over a month without any issues like others have had. (No shorting out the laptop, no fires, etc.) Actually, I swear that the original Dell battery holds a charge from this gizmo for a lot longer than from the original charger, which was probably not working to efficiency before it up & died. For the price, you can’t beat it, although I wish the cord was a bit longer. I realize you usually get what you pay for, but so far, I am extremely satisfied with this purchase & the seller, Brilliant Store. If anything changes, I’ll be sure to post an update.

If you’re tired of forking over half your paycheck to the big computer manufacturers for replacement parts, this is certainly an option to consider.
My wife’s Inspiron 6400 charger started malfunctioning, and doing a Google search on the potential price was very upsetting. Luckily, someone realized that the parts for a charger don’t cost that much, and decided to take a small cut in profits for greater customer satisfaction.
This product is much cheaper than what you’ll see on Dell’s website, and works just the same. It tends to come out of the charging port a bit easy, but so did the original, so we’ll chalk that up to a flaw in Dell’s design.
Look no further if a good replacement charger for less cash is what you’re seeking.

I have had the product for a month and it has been exactly what I needed. My previous extension cord was no longer charging my Inspiron I6400; the connection to the laptop had worn thin. I kept the original Dell AC adapter because I had read the stories of smoke coming from the computer but so far everthing has worked out great.
