Outdoor patio heaters were once only used in restaurants and pubs. With the new found obsessions of owing this piece of equipment, the usefulness of it, more and more homeowners are rushing to get one of these. Before you get one of your own, you should consider some of the pointers here. SPACE Where your heater should be greatly determines the type you should have. This will conclude the type of heater, whether it is a mounted heater, placed in the centre of a table or mobile heater. So, before you find a one, you should survey the area of the heater. There are five main types of heaters. They are Freestanding, the Mobile, the Table Top, the Open Pit, and the Wall Mounted heaters. They all have their pros and cons though depending on its usage. A freestanding heater will be easy to move, especially when you are redecorating. Open pit heaters will give you that feeling of being up in the mountains. The most elegant heater is the wall-mounted heater as they have a luxurious appeal. HEAT You should know how far the heat of a heater can go up to. If you don’t know for sure, ask the salesperson. It is not cost effective to buy electric patio heaters with limited heating capacity for your patio area. How does a heater’s heat travel? Some in a straight line and some cover a certain radius. These types of heaters are affected by where you place them. Some heaters, more favorable ones these days are designed to warm people and objects without being affected by the wind. SAFETY Automatic shut off features can instantly turn off the outdoor patio heaters so as to prevent them from overheating. Majority of outdoor heaters have this. To avoid breakout of fire, the heaters are also equipped with tilt shut off buttons. Other than these features, the patio heaters also come with heat adjustment buttons. Some heaters now come with Ingress Proof readings, which will require you to pay more because you are ‘getting more’. You must make sure that they could be replaced when needed because if they can’t, you may well have to buy a new heater. BUDGET An expensive heater such as wall mounted heater could come with loads of features. The question is, would you need all those features it has? Spending a thousand dollars on something that you probably use one a year is quite a waste. Having a cheaper perhaps mobile or freestanding heater with a less features might just be the one you need. Consider all the features you will need only and shop for a heater with these features. For example, installing an umbrella for a waterproof heater is an absolute nonsense. There is only one patio heater that would really suit your home. If you see a heater that you like elsewhere, it doesn’t necessarily mean that it will complement the look of your patio. You should search and decide carefully when you want to find a patio heater for your home. In the end, its to you that the patio matters the most.
