Bathrooms from Hell

By: Evangeline Auld

has it ever struck you how many homes have really horrible bathrooms?
one would imagine the owners complete their ablutions, eyes tightly closed , and totally unaware of their surroundings.
Some homes may have a very pleasant lounge , a well-designed kitchen and attractively furnished bedrooms but when it comes to the bathroom it is as if it exists in isolation .
Ghastly , depressing, unkempt, uncared for and usually not too warm , these so very necessary areas are sorely in need of an extreme makeover. One's visit to the bathroom should be pleasurable, not just something to be hurried because the room is so inhospitable.
In a bad bathroom, as you enter, the dreary floor covered in out of date uneven tiles sets the tone. Various articles of clothing draped over the shower rail, towels dropped anywhere and of course the missing plugs for basin and bath . Where are they? Nowhere to be seen . The lack of this necessity can prove very frustrating.

Your eye is drawn straight to the chipped, cracked and missing wall tiles, obviously caused by the broken towel rail – discovered leaning in a corner. - hence the untidy towels.
If you were enormously tall, there might be a possibility of seeing yourself in the tiny, smeary mirror on the front of the rickety medicine cabinet. Well, now how do you deal with the toothbrush? Park it on the edge of the wash basin or leave it on the window ledge with the others?

As a pleasurable, stress free experience, this bathroom is hardly to be recommended. The colour, or should I say colours, usually several of them, would also make you feel on edge , perhaps start hallucinating! It appears sometimes as though people feel that whatever paint is left over from other projects will be good enough for the bathroom, no matter how unsuitable. Badly clashing and haphazardly applied, obviously in a rash moment of enthusiastic D I Y. Perhaps that is the reason why the users are in and out of there at top speed . There can’t be much desire incentive to linger more than is essential.

Updating the bathroom should not be too expensive if it is managed in an organised way. The first step is to give proper thought to what is of the most importance in terms of convenience, style and convenience . Carrying out the necessary actions steps to manage this can be done gradually as and when funds and time allow.
If you are informed and informed this can be both creative and creative experience. The feeling Your sense of pride and achievement will be lasting. Every time you visit the inviting , attractively decorated and well-designed room – your very own bathroom - your wish will be to linger there with = eyes wide open.
